The desired applicant must have a strong work ethic, be drug free, and maintain the ability to work well with others.
Candidates should be willing to work for long periods of time away from home including weekends and holidays through peak seasons.
Responsibilities:
- Rigging and managing equipment on the vessel - Conduct vessel operations and maintenance as directed by Captain - Ensuring the safety of passengers and crew members on board - Performing regular maintenance and repairs on the ship's systems and equipment - Overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo or supplies - Monitoring weather conditions and making necessary adjustments - Assisting with emergency procedures, including firefighting and lifesaving techniques Requirements:
- Previous experience as a First Mate or in a similar role - Mechanical knowledge to perform maintenance and repairs on ship systems - Ability to manage a team and work well under pressure - Excellent communication and leadership skills - Valid 100 ton MMC certification - Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the job Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Work Environment:
Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors and subject to varying weather conditions.
Groceries of employees choice provided by company while on board.
Vessel is equip with:
recently remodeled staterooms for all crew members, Starlink internet, and satellite phone services for use by the crew.
New navigational equipment, electronics, heating system, and lighting throughout.
